The Electric Power Research Institute (EPRI) has launched its publicly available Advanced Conductor Specification Guide. This Guide aims to provide electric utilities with information on developing a specification for procuring advanced conductors and connectors. Advanced conductors use new and existing materials to increase the thermal capacity of power lines, allowing for increased load using existing infrastructure to help meet power demands needs. This release is one part of EPRI’s Grid-Enhancing Technologies for a Smart Energy Transition (GET SET) initiative, launched earlier as part of an effort to consolidate and disseminate EPRI’s research on grid-enhancing technologies. You can access the guide at: https://www.epri.com/research/products/000000003002030304.
