Dani attended DMACC and received a Water Environmental Technology degree. She has the following certifications; Collection System Grade 1, Wastewater Grade 1, Water Distribution Grade 2 and Water Treatment Grade 2.
Dani began her water career with Des Moines Water Works as a Lab Technician. Collecting and processing water samples from various stages of the water treatment process. Her responsibilities also included treatment plant inspection, performing maintenance and maintaining data logs and spreadsheets.
After Des Moines Water Works, she was employed as a GIS Analyst/Water Specialist with the City of Polk City. At Polk City, she prepared graphics and other visual representations of the city utilities, updated mapping database information, collected system and plant samples for testing and located underground water, sanitary and storm water systems.
Dani’s most recent employer was at the City of Grimes as a Wastewater Operator. Responsibilities included maintaining and monitoring all city lift stations and collection systems, communicating and assisting the public, and consulting with contractors regarding bids and projects.
While she is a new employee, Dani is not completely unfamiliar with IAMU. She has been an active member of the IAMU Water Safety and Training Committee for over one year.
