IAMU’s Job Training and Safety (JT&S for short) Services is now Safety Services. The department and its staff will continue to provide the same services, programs, tools, and resources. The name change just provides consistency with IAMU’s other departments. In addition, IAMU has created a logo for Safety Services. The logo will make it easy for you to visually recognize when any communication comes from the Safety Services area.

IAMU would like to welcome its new Safety Manager, Larry Banwart, who will oversee Safety Services. Larry has years of experience in the safety field, as well as extensive experience and skills in team building and process improvement. Most recently, Larry was the Safety Manager & Site Safety Manager at McAninch Corp. in the Des Moines area. Before that, he worked in the wind energy field, as an Environmental Health and Safety Supervisor. Larry also worked at H.J. Heinz as their Environmental Health and Safety Manager at the Cedar Rapids plant.
