The conference featured 17 general and concurrent workshop sessions, including member roundtable discussions on a variety of topics. Although the final session of the conference on Thursday the 19th was cancelled due to a speaker taking ill, participants made the best of it by watching the Iowa State NCAA game during and immediately after lunch. Even the outcome of the game couldn't dull the success of the conference!
The 2015 Municipal Broadband Conference hosted by IAMU drew 69 attendees, 53 vendor representatives, and 32 vendor exhibits during it's two-day run at the Ramada Tropics Resort and Conference Center on March 18th and 19th. Representatives of 16 Iowa communities, including those with operating broadband utilities and those who are investigating the concept, were joined this year from a contingent from Reedsburg, Wisconsin. The Reedsburg Utility Commission operates a fiber-to-the-home network in the community near Wisconsin Dells and is one of the only municipal broadband operators in the Badger state. Always a popular feature with attendees, this year's vendor exhibit show had the most vendors since the Broadband Conference launched 4 years ago.
