Denison Municipal Utilities (DMU) recently presented an Iowa Association of Municipal Utilities (IAMU) Customer Appreciation Award to Crawford County. Crawford County undertook a major project to upgrade all lighting in the courthouse and truck repair shop.
The work in the courthouse involved replacing T-12 lighting with T-8s and in the truck shop the work involved replacing 400-watt metal halides with T-5 high-bays. The project resulted in an annual energy savings of more than 140,474 kilowatt hours and a demand savings of about 33 kilowatts.
