All director positions on the IAMU Board are “at large,” but the committee considers a wide variety of criteria when evaluating potential candidates in an effort to maintain a balance of perspectives. In doing so, the committee will consider criteria including but not limited to: educational background, work experience, gender, race, utility location, type of utility represented, and size of community represented. The selected candidate will fill a three-year term from March 1, 2018 - February 28, 2021.
The committee is particularly interested in candidates that, after some time on the board, are willing to consider serving on the executive board, ultimately culminating in being president.
The board typically meets the second Thursday of the odd numbered months in Ankeny from 9 or 10 a.m. until 1 or 2 p.m. at the latest.
