Very soon participants of the program should be receiving dividend checks and virtual $25 coupons, many times these check are delivered by your local insurance agent. Within the IAMU membership 429 utilities, cities, and others have hired IAMU’s Job Training and Safety (JT&S) department to help them with their safety programs, either by customized services and/or with safety training classes. By joining a group cities and utilities combine their resources to make the training economical no matter the size of the town, while other cities have individual agreements with IAMU to deliver training just to them.
What to do with those dividend checks and coupons? IAMU would like to suggest using the dividends by applying the funds towards your safety program and safety training. Or if you don’t have a program contact IAMU to join one of our safety group. When you improve your safety performance, reduce things like your injuries, loss time accidents, workers compensation you help your own city while also reducing the insurance group’s claims. As a group lower claims will create larger dividends and over time minimize what your city and utility pays for insurance. The $25 coupons you receive are “virtual” coupons. When you receive your dividend checks you will also receive a sheet of paper that tells you your coupon numbers. Claim your coupons by referencing these coupon numbers on your safety related invoices from IAMU or on workshop registrations. Safety related means you may use your coupons to apply towards your safety training from our JT&S safety classes, most electric, gas, water, and JT&S workshops offered by IAMU; the workshop brochure will indicate if risk management coupons apply towards the workshop.
If you have any questions about joining one of our safety groups or redeeming your coupon contact Dave Hraha at IAMU.
