Rudy Parcel, IAMU Gas Services Coordinator has announced his retirement date of December 26, 2014. After 40 plus years in the gas industry with 19 of those years at IAMU, Rudy has been a force in federal and state gas issues and regulations, along with his construction services.
Over the years Rudy has designed, constructed and installed meter sets, regulator stations, line extensions. As a National Association of Corrosion Engineers (NACE) certified Senior Corrosion Engineer, Rudy has helped many of our gas and water utilities with their pipe corrosion issues. In the past several years he has designed and worked on or assisted with corrosion issues at water wells around the state.
Parcel has expanded the Gas Services department considerably since he started work at IAMU. The department is now capable of assisting members in most aspects of running their gas systems. Countless times he has assisted clerks and gas managers with billing issues or how to file certain reports, or has talked to council and board members about the regulatory requirements or the need to upgrade certain parts of a system; or the many calls to Parcel to ask a quick question on a procedure, Rudy has been there. In the time of mutual aid assistance, Parcel was always just a phone call away to help organize and work on the restoration of services.

Gas Services Continues Into the Future
IAMU has planned for Rudy’s retirement. Rest assured that the Gas Services department that he helped created will continue to serve IAMU gas members. Rod Parcel has been in the gas industry for 20 years and is also a Corrosion Engineer with NACE. Rod has been with IAMU for 9 years and has worked beside Rudy and others and is well prepared and capable to head Gas Services.
