Representatives of Iowa municipalities are invited to a meeting on Monday, September 12th in Cedar Rapids to discuss collaborating on cloud services and addressing security concerns. The free meeting starts at 10am at the Double Tree Downtown in Cedar Rapids. Lunch is sponsored by the cities of Davenport and Cedar Rapids.
Rob Henry, CIO at the City of Davenport, is one of the event organizers. He hopes next week’s meeting can be a springboard into additional dialogue among communities. “All levels of government have unique needs and challenges in creating secure technology platforms and delivering effective technology solutions for their constituents. By coming together we can start to discuss how collaboration and group participation can help us accomplish common goals.“ Some of the goals could include cost savings and improved government service innovation by sharing services, ideas, knowledge and time. A feature discussion for this first event will be around cloud and security with experts from CenturyLink and RiskSense.
