2014 is quickly coming to an end. It has been a very busy year for many of our member utilities. New customer installations, system improvements, storm restoration, vacations, and numerous other events make the year fly by. Just as you finish one year, the next has to be organized.
There are a few other potential events that we are trying to put together for 2015. We had a decent turnout for the Diesel Workshop last spring and I would like to continue to make this an annual event. If you have any input or would like to help with planning this years’ workshop, please contact me.
As you look ahead at the 2015 training schedule, please mark your calendars. Our trainers travel the state during the year to meet with all of you and we understand that the show must go on at your utility during these times. As important as it is to keep electricity, gas and water flowing, training is also a very important part of the job. Several cities have new employees on the payroll which makes training even more important.
2014 looks to have been a fairly quiet year in the accident and near miss category for a majority of members. Many of you have several different responsibilities during a normal workday which makes your job more challenging. Your continued focus on the task at hand and a goal of going home in one piece will insure that 2015 continues to be quiet. Have a great holiday season with family and friends and see you all next year.
